Lufthansa Group's Miles & More loyalty program now awards members miles and points for purchasing CO2-offsetting packages, similar to the company's optional "Green Fares" offering, Lufthansa announced Thursday.
The offers include the "full offset of calculated individual flight-related CO2 emissions through the subsequent use of sustainable aviation fuel and a contribution to the Lufthansa Group's climate project portfolio."
The CO2-offsetting packages can be purchased during flight booking, before departure in the personal booking area or after the flight through the websites of Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings. They also can be booked after the flight via the Miles & More app or on the loyalty program's website.
Depending on the SAF share booked, members can earn up to 80 percent more points and qualifying points and up to 20 percent more HON Circle points when choosing a CO2-offsetting package in addition to the points credited for the flight. The higher the SAF proportion, the more points are credited. In addition, members can earn up to six miles per one euro spent, according to Lufthansa.
Further, if members booked a CO2-offsetting package for their flights since January 2025, the corresponding miles and points will be credited retroactively, according to Lufthansa.
