In June, JetBlue will begin testing a boarding
process that screens based on biometrics rather than paper or digital boarding
passes. The testing will occur on flights between Boston and Aruba. At the
gate, JetBlue will photograph passengers who opt in, and the camera station
will match their images to photos in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection
database and verify flight details. JetBlue is the first carrier to integrate
with CBP on biometrics and facial recognition for boarding verification.
