U.S.-based travel agencies sold $7.4 billion in
airline tickets in August, up 3.6 percent year over year, according to Airlines
Reporting Corp. The average round-trip ticket price settled by ARC declined 2.1
percent to $456, but the number of trips increased 4.3 percent. The number of domestic
trips was flat, while international trips rose 14 percent.
