Former Deutsche Lufthansa AG chairman and CEO Wolfgang
Mayrhuber, who helped build the airline group to its current structure, died Saturday
at the age of 71. Mayrhuber joined Lufthansa in 1970 as an engineer and was
chairman and chief executive from 2003 to 2010. He oversaw the acquisitions of
Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines, which earned
him recognition as one of BTN's Top 25 Most Influential list in
2010.
