Delta Air Lines is suspending operations in 11 U.S. markets
and Ottawa in the coming weeks.
On July 8, the carrier will suspend operations in Aspen,
Colo.; Bangor, Maine; Erie, Pa.; Flint, Mich.; Fort Smith, Ark.; Lincoln, Neb.;
New Bern/Morehead/Beaufort, N.C.; Peoria, Ill.; Santa Barbara, Calif.; and
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Those airports, which Delta said have "very low
customer demand," make up about 5 percent of the total airports that Delta
serves in the United States. All will have service from at least one other
carrier after Delta suspends service.
Service to Ottawa International Airport will be suspended as
of June 21, according to Delta.
