Delta Air Lines is expanding its Covid-19 testing program for employees to include at-home testing of employees outside of its hubs, CEO Ed Bastian said in a memo to employees.
The carrier will start its at-home testing for employees based in Florida and Texas—"two hot spots where we have a large contingent of our non-hub employees," Bastian said—as well as reservations and customer service employees based outside of hubs. Delta aims to have all active U.S.-based employees tested within the next four weeks, he said.
Bastian also noted that Delta has so far banned 120 passengers for refusing to wear masks. The carrier this week introduced a new process requiring passengers claiming medical exemptions to go through a screening process with a third-party medical professional.
