Delta Air Lines plans to expand benefits for top-tier Elite members of its SkyMiles for Business program, the carrier announced Wednesday. SkyMiles for Business is Delta's program for small and midsize companies, which the carrier revamped in October 2023.
Delta plans to introduce a new suite of account management support tools specifically for SkyMiles for Business Elite members through its SkyMiles for Business Solutions center, formerly known as the SkyMiles for Business Service Center. That support includes "personalized and proactive communications, the opportunity for account reviews and faster issue resolution." The "reimagined" Business Solutions team will continue to offer dedicated program support from Atlanta and Minneapolis, according to Delta.
Delta also later this year plans to expand its Delta Business unused ticket transfer program for contracted corporate and agency customers to SkyMiles for Business Elite members. Those members will be able to transfer eligible unused tickets from individual Delta wallets into a company's UATP account, according to the carrier. The program will start as a pilot with transfers requested through Delta's website. Delta intends to add in early 2026 a digital self-service tool within the SkyMiles for Business site that will offer "real-time visibility into ticket status and value, with sorting by expiration date or transfer status."
Agencies will have the ability to manage this functionality on behalf of their SkyMiles for Business Elite customers in the same way they currently do for managed corporate accounts, according to Delta.
These changes come on the heels of Delta's announcement in June that the carrier had added the ability for select SkyMiles for Business members to redeem earned miles for eCredits that can be applied to travel agency bookings via global distribution systems. Previously, users could apply eCredits only to direct bookings, not GDS bookings through agencies.
