Delta and its partners will add about 30 new daily
departures out of Boston Logan International Airport next year, including
"service to the top five business markets requested by our corporate
customers," Delta president Glen Hauenstein said.
On April 1, the carrier will begin daily service to
Cleveland from Boston, and on Sept. 9, it will add four daily flights to Newark
Liberty International Airport, five daily flights to Chicago O'Hare and six
daily flights to Washington Reagan National Airport. Delta next year also will
boost its domestic service from Boston to each Pittsburgh, Jacksonville,
Nashville, Indianapolis and Philadelphia.
In addition, Delta will begin daily seasonal service to
Lisbon and Edinburgh on May 23, and it is moving its service to both Dublin and
London Heathrow to larger aircraft.
Delta's partners are building out of Boston, as well. KLM
will begin new service to Amsterdam on March 31, and Korean Air will begin
service five times per week to Seoul on April 12. Virgin Atlantic also will add
a daytime flight to London Heathrow on April 1.
The growth will bring Delta and its partners' daily flights
from Logan up to 152, and Delta will assume operations at all gates at the
airport's Terminal A by the third quarter of next year. In 2020, Delta plans to
expand its Sky Club lounge in the terminal with additional seating, a new food
and beverage area and new showers.
