Delta Air Lines has ordered 31 additional widebody aircraft from Airbus, including 16 A330-900 and 15 A350-900 models, the carrier announced Tuesday evening. Deliveries are projected to begin in 2029.
The deal combines a new, incremental order with the exercise of 10 options and adds 20 additional future widebody options, according to Delta. Neither Delta nor Airbus released financial details of the order.
"As we grow our international footprint and prepare our fleet to serve expanded long-haul markets, these aircraft will enhance our capabilities and elevate our premium offerings," Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement.
