Delta Air Lines beginning April 1 will make several changes to its executive leadership team, including new appointments as president, CFO and COO, the carrier announced Thursday.
Chief external affairs officer Peter Carter has been promoted to president, succeeding Glen Hauenstein, who retired on Feb. 28. Carter has been with Delta since July 2015, and his larger role will include driving enterprise strategy in addition to global policy and legal matters, the carrier's international portfolio, real estate, and sustainability and diversity teams, according to an internal memo from Ed Bastian.
CFO Dan Janki will become Delta's chief operating officer upon the April 30 retirement of chief of operations and president of Delta TechOps John Laughter. Janki, who has been with Delta since July 2021, will oversee airport customer service, flight operations, in-flight service, the operations and customer center, reservations sales and customer care, technical operations and the corporate safety, security and compliance teams, according to Delta.
Delta also named chief customer experience officer Erik Snell as its new CFO, succeeding Janki. Snell has been with Delta for 20 years and in addition to overseeing the finance division, his remit will include fleet and supply chain teams and the airline's refinery subsidiary, Monroe Energy.
Additional appointments include president of international Alain Bellemare assuming additional responsibilities as the chairman of Delta TechOps, and SVP of customer experience design Ranjan Goswami taking on a new role as chief marketing and product officer, following chief marketing officer Alicia Tillman's decision to leave the carrier.
Carter, Janki, Snell and Goswami will report directly to Bastian.
