Cathay Pacific's corporate sustainable aviation fuel program commitments in 2025 more than doubled year over year, the carrier announced Wednesday. Cathay introduced the program, which allows corporate clients to purchase SAF, in April 2022.
The program's 17 corporate partners committed to using about 17,400 metric tons of SAF, representing an increase of nearly 180 percent compared with 2024, according to Cathay. This figure "is equivalent to a reduction of approximately 54,600 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions on a lifecycle basis."
New to the program in 2025 was Microsoft, which entered as a Diamond partner, the program's highest tier, according to the carrier. Other Diamond-tier clients include Ernst & Young and Swedish investment firm EQT.
"Several Diamond partners of the program, including EQT, have entered into multi-year SAF commitments with Cathay, demonstrating a long-term commitment to scaling SAF and credibly reducing their climate impact from business travel and airfreight," according to the carrier.
