Frequent and more experienced business travelers are more likely to book flights on their smartphones, according to a CWT survey of 594 business travelers. Overall, travelers making self-service bookings still predominantly use desktop computers, as 80 percent of trips are booked on computers, according to CWT. Mobile phone bookings make up 15 percent, and tablet bookings make up the remaining 5 percent. Mobile bookings, however, are more common among certain types of travelers and trips. Those who travel at least five times per year, for example, are 13 percent more likely to book on mobile devices. Travelers who are going somewhere they have already been are 11 percent more likely to. "Booking on your mobile device requires a level of confidence born from experience," according to CWT chief experience officer Amit Wurgaft. The survey also found that mobile bookings are more likely when travelers are booking in premium cabins, booking within one week of departure and booking from home instead of the office.
