Iran Air has reached an agreement with Boeing to
purchase 80 aircraft for $16.6 billion. Delivery is scheduled to begin in 2018.
The deal, Boeing's first with Iran since its 1979 revolution, includes 50 737
Max 8s, 15 777-300ERs and 15 777-9s. Iran Air is replacing a fleet that
features some of the oldest aircraft in operation, due in part to years of
sanctions. Earlier this year, it reached a $25 billion deal with Airbus for 118
aircraft, according to The Wall Street
Journal.
