American Airlines has extended cancellations of flights on Boeing 737 Max aircraft through Aug. 19. The change affects 115 of 7,000 daily departures over the summer, and the carrier is rebooking travelers who had been scheduled on those flights. Should Max aircraft be recertified before then, American will bring them back online as "spares to supplement our operation as needed during the summer." Southwest Airlines has removed Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft from its schedule through Aug. 5.
