American Airlines and Delta once again are
reaccommodating one another's passengers during irregular operations. In 2015, the
carriers ended
a longstanding interline agreement that allowed passengers to book multisegment
tickets across the two airlines and that allowed reaccommodation when bad
weather or other circumstances cause significant delays and cancellations. The
new agreement, effective today, covers only irregular operations, not the
ability for agents and other third parties to combine itineraries across the
carriers, according to spokespersons from both American and Delta.
