American Airlines continues to operate some of its lounges, though it has adapted its food and beverage service in them to prevent Covid-19 spread, SVP of customer experience Kurt Stache said in a video message to customers. Some international lounges, including those in Paris, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, have closed, as have some domestic lounges in airports with multiple lounges available, such as Dallas-Fort Worth, he said. Those that remain open have discontinued self-service to offer food in individual portions wrapped in plastic and beverages either in cartons or prepared behind a bar. Some lounges, including those in Boston, Philadelphia, Orlando and New York's John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports, have suspended alcohol service per local regulations, he said.
