Alaska Airlines had the best on-time performance among major
North American carriers in January, getting 89 percent of flights to the gate
within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival times, according to FlightStats.
Spirit Airlines ranked second, followed by Virgin America, which midway through
the month officially
merged operations with Alaska. The four largest U.S. carriers—Delta,
Southwest, United and American—all were above the average for the month.
