Alaska Airlines is introducing technology and protocols to reduce touchpoints for travelers over the next few weeks, the carrier announced. Those include the ability to print baggage tags without touching check-in kiosks, boarding passes via text message for passengers who do not have Alaska's mobile app and the capability for agents to scan boarding passes at a distance of six feet during boarding. Alaska also will introduce the capability to pre-order onboard food and beverage service when such service returns to Alaska's main cabins.
