The International Air Transport Association is working with
the African Development Bank to improve aviation connectivity and
infrastructure in Africa. The entities signed a memorandum of understanding for
cooperation at the International Civil Aviation Organization World Aviation
Forum in Abuja, Nigeria. The African aviation industry is forecast to grow 6
percent annually over the next 20 years, according to IATA. "Very few
invest where it's difficult to travel to," according to African
Development Bank president Akinwumi Adesina. "We must make regional
aviation markets competitive and drive down costs, raise efficiencies and improve
connectivity and convenience."
