The consolidated dollar value of airline tickets
sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 6.4 percent year over year in
March to $8.8 billion, according to Airlines Reporting Corp. Airfares sold and
the number of passenger trips each increased 8 percent year over year. The
average price of a U.S. round-trip ticket in March was flat year over year at
$498, according to ARC.
