Wings' new CIO Karen Janssen
Wings Global Travel has named Karen Janssen as its new chief technology officer, leading tech strategy and operations for the travel management company across its global operations.
Janssen previously was global CIO for Corporate Travel Management and prior to that was head of IT service operations for Flight Centre Travel Group. She will be based in Wings' London headquarters and will lead the tech strategy there as well as for the TMC's operations in Europe, the U.S., Latin America, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.
"IT has always been operationally important to TMCs," Janssen said in a statement. "Now, it's strategically vital, both to enable the business to be efficient, agile and responsive but crucially to transform travelers' experiences."
Wings' previous CIO, Frank Palapies, now is the TMC's chief strategy officer for the global energy and resources sector.
