Airfare reshopping tool Trappit has gained a spot in BCD Travel's
growing SolutionSource marketplace. A competitor in BTN's 2018 Innovate competition,
Trappit earned praise from judges for its comprehensive look at airfares, which
not only scans across global distribution systems (currently, Amadeus, Sabre
and all Travelport GDSs) but also searches airline websites and other available
fares for comparisons. Trappit searches lower fares for identical ticket
attributes—same departure and arrival, same cabin class, same cancellation terms—and
accounts for change fees. It works in all currencies.
According to the 2018 Innovate judging panel, the
value of the tool can be viewed in terms of the savings it can provide, which
Trappit estimates at 2 percent to 5 percent of total corporate air spend, but
also for the data it can generate aside from savings. Trappit reporting offers
insights into market conditions and rates during the reasonable booking period for
each ticket and exposes differentials for sourcing and negotiation leverage. CEO
Angel Maroto said, “We are thrilled at this new partnership with BCD to bring
