Heinritz To Vacate Top GetThere Post
Sabre Travel Network senior vice president and GetThere general manager Bev Heinritz is leaving the company at the end of April for an "early retirement," the company told Business Travel News today. Sabre did not name a successor.
Heinritz said the move is a "personal decision," which has been a "personal goal of mine for a while." The next two months will be "business as usual with little disruption to customers and employees," said Heinritz, who added that after a break she plans to return to the industry.
Heinritz worked for Sabre for 22 years, eight of them at GetThere. In 2003, she took over the head post for the online booking tool. During her tenure as general manager, GetThere grew from processing less than $4 billion in gross travel sales in 2003 to $9.4 billion in 2007, according to a GetThere spokesperson.
