Aviation data analytics provider Cirium has launched a data visualization tool that tracks the number of active air ticket waivers issued as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Users can click on an airport on an interactive map to see the number of active waivers for it by week.
According to Cirium, the volume of active waivers is declining as airlines update or change their terms. The number of pandemic-specific active waivers peaked at 121 on March 23, which covered 895 airports. Since the peak, there has been a steady decline in the number of active pandemic-specific waivers and the airports covered by them. As of July 13, there are 52 active waivers that cover 772 airports.
