Asia-focused distribution system Abacus International this week appointed Robert Bailey to serve as president and CEO beginning April 14. Bailey has held posts with SITA, an airline telecommunications and information technology firm, and Galileo, but most recently served as senior vice president and managing director of the Information Technology Services Marketing Association.
President and CEO Don Birch, who last year announced his plans to step down, will maintain the chief executive position until Bailey takes the post.
"Robert Bailey's breadth of experience in travel distribution, technology and marketing will be a great asset for Abacus as it moves into the next phase of development," Birch said in a statement. "Robert will bring a fresh perspective and new energy to the role as Abacus continues to further build its leadership role in the industry."
