The average daily rate at U.S. hotels in September increased 4.6 percent year over year to $122.02,
according to STR. Occupancy increased 3.3 percent to 67.9 percent, the highest occupancy for any September since 1995. Philadelphia reported the largest ADR increase, up 14.4 percent to $141.61. New Orleans posted the most significant declines in ADR, 2.3 percent to $128.51, and occupancy, 8.4 percent to 61 percent. Anaheim/Santa Ana, Calif., experienced the largest rise in occupancy, up 10.3 percent to 78.1 percent. September marked the 67th consecutive month in which U.S. revenue per available room increased.
