The average daily rate at U.S. hotels in June increased 5 percent year over year to $121.57,
according to STR. Occupancy increased 2.1 percent to 73.1 percent, the highest monthly occupancy recorded in 2015. Every top 25 market reported positive ADR growth in June; Seattle experienced the largest (16.3 percent to $174.73), while New York, still struggling to gain pricing power, experienced the smallest, 0.8 percent to $272.50. New Orleans posted the largest occupancy increase, 10.2 percent to 73.7 percent, while Minneapolis/St.Paul (3.6 percent to 79.1 percent) and Houston (3.6 percent to 71.1 percent) saw the largest occupancy decreases.
