Q4 Reserved Hotel Occupancy Down In North America
Fourth-quarter reserved occupancy in the business transient segment at North American hotels is down 0.8 percent from the same period last year, according to TravelClick. The average daily rate for that segment is up 2.7 percent. Group reserved occupancy is up 4.9 percent from last November’s review, and ADR is up 4.9 percent. Looking ahead to the first quarter of 2016, business transient committed occupancy is down 2 percent year over year, but ADR is up 11.7 percent. Similarly, committed occupancy in the group segment is down 1.2 percent, but ADR is up 6.5 percent. The November North American Hospitality Review looks at group sales commitments and individual reservations in 25 major North American markets booked by Nov. 1, 2015, for hotel stays from November 2015 to October 2016.
