Ovation Travel Group said 2013 rate proposals received from hotels on average are up 6 percent for major metropolitan markets.
"There has been a heavy spike in San Francisco with a proposed increase of 12 percent, followed by Palo Alto and Boston at 8 percent," according to Ovation. "While New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles are just below the average at 5 percent, San Diego is expecting the lowest increase of just 1 percent."
