Etihad Airways reported a 2014 net profit of $73 million, up from $48 million in 2013,
on Thursday. The carrier’s capacity increased 21.8 percent year over year as it boosted capacity on 23 routes and added 10 destinations: Los Angeles; Dallas; San Francisco; Zurich; Rome; Jaipur, India; Yerevan, Armenia; Phuket, Thailand; and Perth, Australia. Traffic increased 23.6 percent year over year, and Etihad’s load factor increased 1.2 percentage points to 79.2 percent. Etihad’s revenue increased 26.7 percent in 2014 to $7.6 billion.
