Air Canada’s third-quarter operating revenue increased 5.9 percent year over year to C$4.02 billion (US$3 billion).
Net income rose 32.3 percent to $C437 million (US$325.8 million), boosted by higher revenue and significantly lower fuel costs. Capacity rose 10.5 percent year over year, owing to the carrier's low-cost Rouge brand and to more international flights. Traffic increased 10.2 percent, and Air Canada’s load factor declined 0.2 percentage points to 86.9 percent. Passenger revenue per available seat mile declined 4 percent, and yield was down 3.8 percent.
