AccorHotels’ average daily rate increased 1.3 percent to €81 during the third quarter.
Occupancy increased 1.4 percentage points to 68.8 percent. While overall revenue increased 3.4 percent year over year, revenue in the Americas fell 6.7 percent, driven by a 12.7 percent decrease in Brazil. The country suffered from a poor exchange rate and a tough year-over-year comparison against 2014’s FIFA World Cup. On Friday, the company announced the purchase of 43 hotels in France from Foncière des Régions, Accor's principal lease partner. The €281 million deal, expected to close in the first half of 2016, goes against the asset-light strategy the rest of the industry's major players are pursuing.
