WestJet's revenue increased 10.5 percent year over year to 1.4 billion Canadian dollars in the third quarter. Traffic was up 2.1 percent as capacity declined 0.5 percent, pushing load factor up 2.2 percentage points to 86.8 percent. Yield was up 8.2 percent. The carrier reported net earnings of 119.4 million Canadian dollars, up 70.4 percent compared with the third quarter of 2018. WestJet has discontinued earnings calls in light of its pending acquisition by Onex Corp., which will take the carrier private.
