WestJet passenger revenue increased 11.9 percent year over year to $1.16 billion Canadian in the second quarter. Traffic increased 6.8 percent as capacity increased 2.8 percent, and load factor rose 3.3 percentage points to 87.2 percent. Yield jumped 4.5 percent. The carrier has discontinued earnings calls in light of its pending acquisition by Onex Corp., which will take WestJet private.
