First-quarter revenue for SAP's Business Network segment,
which now includes procurement management system Ariba, travel and expense tool
Concur and vendor management system Fieldglass, increased 21 percent at
constant currencies to €447 million, or US$513.7 million,
year over year. Segment profit was €70 million, representing a 6 percent
year-over-year increase at constant currencies. In future quarterly earnings, SAP will report
on this segment as a unit, without breaking out specifics for each business.
SAP reported more
than 40 million Concur users in the first quarter of 2016, up from 32 million at
the end of 2015. SAP CEO Bill McDermott said new customers include AirAsia
Global Shared Services and FranceTV.
More Responsibilities for Singh
Concur CEO and SAP
global managing board member Steven Singh, who oversees the Business Network, took
on addition responsibilities in April, according to an SAP quarterly report. He
now also leads SAP's small and midsize business solutions, which includes SAP
Anywhere customer relationship management and e-commerce software for small
businesses, SAP Business One business management software for small and midsize
businesses and SAP Business ByDesign cloud enterprise resource planning
solution for midmarket companies. Singh also took over SAP's healthcare
strategy and solutions division.
