Red Lion Hotels Corp. has named John Russell Jr. as permanent CEO, the company announced Tuesday. Russell had been serving as Red Lion's interim CEO since December 2019, after the departure of Greg Mount the previous month.
A hospitality industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience, Russell previously served as president and COO of hotel and resort management firm Sentry Hospitality. He also has held executive positions with hospitality companies including ITT Sheraton, Days Inn of America, Carlson Companies and Benchmark Hospitality. Russell also has held leadership positions with industry groups, serving as chairman of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and president of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.
