Red Lion Hotels Corp. appointed John Russell Jr. as interim CEO, replacing Greg Mount, who left the company in November after serving nearly six years in the role. Russell has 40 years of hospitality experience, most recently a president and COO of Sentry Hospitality, where he oversaw operations, finance and marketing for resorts, lifestyle hotels and executive conference centers. He previously held executive positions in hospitality companies including ITT Sheraton, Days Inn of America, Carlson Companies and Benchmark Hospitality. He also helped build brands including Wingate Inns, NYLO and MODO hotels. Red Lion's board will continue the search for a permanent CEO during Russell's tenure.
