Private aviation company Jet Linx has acquired Meridian Aircraft Management & Air Charter, adding nearly two dozen long- and short-range private jets to what it calls the second-largest fleet among U.S. aircraft management companies, the companies announced Wednesday.
Jet Linx differs from other private aviation firms in that it both manages airplanes for corporate clients and private individuals and sells availability on those aircraft in the form of a jet card when the owners are not using them.
Jet Linx is based in Omaha while Meridian is based at New Jersey's Teterboro Airport, where Jet Linx late last year opened a private terminal as part of an expansion strategy in the Northeast. Terms of the deal were undisclosed; both companies are privately held.
