International Airlines Group passenger revenue increased 8.7 percent year over year in the second quarter to 6 billion euros. Traffic rose 6.6 percent as capacity increased 5.4 percent; load factor rose a percentage point to 85 percent. Over the first half of the year, unit revenue has been flat as yields declined, according to the group. Domestic routes, routes to North America and routes to the Africa, Middle East and South Asia region have seen unit revenue growth, while unit revenue has declined on routes within Europe and to Latin America and the Caribbean. Unit revenue has been flat on routes to the Asia/Pacific region. IAG reported a post-tax profit of 736 million euros for the second quarter, up from 614 million euros in the second quarter of 2018.
