International Airlines Group's passenger revenue grew 5.2
percent year over year to 4.7 million British pounds in the first quarter.
Traffic rose 6.4 percent as capacity increased 6.1 percent, and load factor
increased 0.2 percentage points to 80.7 percent. Unit revenue decreased due to
high market capacities and Easter's shift to the second quarter, according to
the group. IAG reported an operating profit of 135 million British pounds for
the quarter, compared with 340 million British pounds in the first quarter of
2018. Fuel costs rose 22.8 percent year over year.
