IAG Revenue & Profits Jumped in 2015
Passenger revenue for International Airlines Group increased 14.2 percent year over year in 2015 to €20.4 billion, though revenue on a passenger-unit basis decreased, the parent company to British Airways and Iberia reported. During the fourth quarter, passenger revenue per available seat kilometer dipped 3.7 percent in constant currency, excluding Aer Lingus, which the group acquired in August. The Paris terrorist attacks in November accounted for a point of that decline, according to IAG. For the full year, IAG's capacity rose 8.2 percent and load factor increased by a percentage point to 81.4 percent. After-tax profit for 2015 was €1.5 billion, up 51.1 percent compared with 2014.
