Alaska Airlines' 90 percent on-time arrival rate
ranked it as April's most punctual North American airline, according to
FlightStats. North American carriers on average got 84.7 percent of flights to
their gates within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival times. Among the 12
largest carriers, Delta Air Lines (88.8 percent), WestJet (88.5 percent),
Frontier Airlines (86.5 percent) and United Airlines (85.5 percent) also had
above-average on-time rates. American Airlines (83.4 percent), Air Canada (83
percent), Southwest Airlines (82.2 percent), JetBlue Airways (80.3 percent),
Virgin America (75.6 percent), Spirit Airlines (75 percent) and Allegiant Air
(64.1 percent) had on-time rates below the monthly average.
