Daniel P. Bohan, travel management company executive,
entrepreneur and travel technology visionary, passed away last month after a
six-year struggle following complications from heart surgery, days before his
70th birthday.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, founder, president and
CEO of Omega World Travel, the 38-year-old Fairfax, Va.-based travel management
company that Dan Bohan helped to build into one of the largest in the country.
In the early 1980s, Bohan left the real estate business he
had operated for more than a decade and led Omega's entrance into government
travel in response to the U.S. Government Accounting Office's test of using
private travel agencies to service government travel.
In the late 1990s, Dan Bohan launched TravTech, Omega's
software development company and Internet cruise booking engine Cruise.com.
