Airlines Reporting Corp. has rolled out an application programming interface that enables travel management companies to integrate ARC's payment platform into new distribution channels, including those offering New Distribution Capability content. ARC also has combined two existing payment services under the name ARC Pay: ARC Pay GDS, formerly known as Travel Agency Service Fee, processes the credit card payments agents make in global distribution systems, whether using a client's card or the TMC's own card; ARC Pay Hub, formerly Agent's Choice, is a web-based service that enables agents to make credit card payments outside the GDS. Currently, most of ARC's payment processing volume goes through the GDSs, according to the company, but the new API enables TMCs to integrate ARC Pay directly into channels like NDC aggregators and direct airline connections, which are becoming increasingly popular methods of distribution.
