U.S. travel agencies in June processed through ARC 5.3 percent more total air transactions than they did a year earlier,
according to ARC data. Domestic transactions increased 5.6 percent while international ones rose 4.9 percent. Year-to-date total transactions were up 2.4 percent from the same period in 2013. Meanwhile, June total air sales including refunds and exchanges grew 7.4 percent year over year, according to ARC. Airfare sales increased 6.6 percent (with domestic up 9.8 percent and international up 3.1 percent), while processed airline fees jumped 13.6 percent and taxes and non-airline fees rose 8.7 percent.
