Maritz Travel Co. today named Christine Duffy, formerly president of Maritz subsidiary Maritz McGettigan, as the firm's new president and CEO following the resignation of Jeff Reinberg, effective immediately.
Duffy joined Maritz following the November 2001 acquisition of McGettigan Partners, where she served as COO
(Meetings Today, Dec. 3, 2001). Duffy, long associated with McGettigan's advancement of the concept of meetings consolidation, remained with Maritz following the acquisition to lead the subsidiary as it transitioned to an entity primarily focused on serving pharmaceutical meetings management.
Reinberg, a 28-year veteran of Maritz, led the company through the McGettigan acquisition and integration, as well as the sale of Maritz's corporate travel management operations to Carlson Wagonlit Travel
(BTN, March 29). Officials said Reinberg "is ready to move on to other career opportunities."
