Hertz reported second-quarter net income of $92.9 million, up 4 percent from the same period last year.
Worldwide rental car revenues increased nearly 7 percent year over year. Hertz reported "record transaction days for the quarter" increased 7 percent, but worldwide rental rate revenue per transaction day decreased 3 percent, which Hertz attributed to growth in its lower-priced off-airport business. While Hertz pointed to "continued pressure on commercial pricing," airport leisure pricing during the quarter grew by 1 percent.
