Hertz reported a $121.4 million second-quarter profit, up from $92.9 million for the same period last year.
U.S. car rental total revenue per day, which includes ancillary revenue, was up 3.1 percent year over year, driven by strong growth in the U.S. on-airport leisure segment. Commercial rental pricing for the company's namesake brand was up 1.8 percent year over year in the second quarter, according to CEO Mark Frissora. Worldwide car rental revenues grew 23 percent from the prior-year period and the company reported "record" transaction days, "largely due to the acquisition of Dollar Thrifty," consummated late last year.
