Frontier Airlines appointed as president industry veteran Barry Biffle, effective July 16.
Biffle will oversee the carrier's "operations, marketing and related information technology organizations," and will report to CEO David Siegel. According the company, Biffle's career has included "management roles with specific experience in turnaround situations and development of ultra-low-cost carriers." He most recently served as CEO of South American low-cost carrier VivaColombia, following earlier roles at Spirit Airlines, US Airways and AMR Corp. Owned by private equity firm Indigo Partners, Frontier currently operates 350 daily flights to 75 destinations in the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Caribbean.
