Eurostar revenues for the first six months of 2012 grew 1 percent year over year to £425 million
despite recent weakness in business travel, the rail operator reported. While passenger volumes rose 2 percent year over year, Eurostar attributed the gains to strength in the leisure segment. "Business travel, which was broadly flat in the first quarter of 2012, weakened in the second quarter as the number of public holidays and the eurozone crisis impacted on many business customers’ travel plans," according to the company.
